Journalists receive dozens, if not hundreds, of story ideas every week. What makes one pitch rise above the rest?

In this workshop, journalists David Pierce, news editor at the Union Leader; Carol Robidoux, founder and publisher of Manchester Ink Link and Nashua Ink Link; and Tony Schinella, senior local field editor for Patch in NH and RI. will pull back the curtain on how they evaluate story ideas and decide what’s worth pursuing. They’ll share what makes a pitch compelling, the common mistakes that send pitches straight to the delete folder, and why understanding the story behind your topic is critical. Get feedback on your story pitch or press release. Participants will gain practical insights into how to frame a pitch and find the right angle so it resonates with journalists and their audiences.

Presented in collaboration with the NH Press Association

Registered students will receive the Zoom link and information prior to the class.
