About the Nackey S. Loeb School of Communications

The Nackey S. Loeb School of Communications, Inc. is a private 501(c)3 nonprofit founded in 1999 by Nackey S. Loeb, late president and publisher of The Union Leader and New Hampshire Sunday News newspapers.

Our mission is to promote and defend the First Amendment and foster interest, integrity, and excellence in journalism and other forms of communication by educating students of various ages and providing them with the tools and knowledge to improve their skills.

What We Do

The Loeb School offers classes, workshops, and events on the First Amendment and right-to-know laws, journalism and a variety of communication topics. Classes are free of charge or low-cost, and open to people of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels.

Additionally, the School supports local news initiatives, high school and college journalists, and offers training and professional development opportunities to businesses and organizations.

The Loeb School is located in the New Hampshire Institute of Politics (NHIOP) at St. Anselm’s College. Through this strategic alliance, the Loeb School leases space at NHIOP to host classes, workshops, and events. Learn more about this alliance
